Rosie's Oasis Of Calm - Wall Storage & Closet Preview...

Hi honeys,
I'm sorry I've been gone so long, changes in weather have not been too kind to me, & I haven't been coping terribly well.  Just keeping up with work has been a real challenge, I'm sure fellow spoonies will understand. I feel awful for neglecting this little blog (and you dear ones) for so long, so I thought I'd share an update on my craft & dressing room.  Thanks to my dear Hubby, work continues on it.

  Dressing Room Ikea Mulig Bar

Last Sunday, which is the only day we have off work at the same time, Hubby & I set off to Ikea. Now normally a trip to Ikea makes me as happy as can be, but the shop was insanely busy & noisy and... well thank goodness we had a shopping list printed out and knew exactly which items we were there to pick up because I was no sooner in the store than I wanted to run away! I'm so grateful Hubby was with me too, I suffer from anxiety and oh my did it kick in with the crowds & noise everywhere :/  We had gone for a few items to allow us to carry on work at home and I promise you'll see the things we bought as they're used for upcoming projects.

Happy Valentine's Day Honeys xx

Hello honeys
Jade & I just wanted to wish you a wonderful Valentine's Day, chock full of smiles, laughs, fun & hugs xx

Our Furbaby Jade

While surfing online I found this fabulous site with lots of interesting & fun facts about February 14th from the Society for the Confluence of Festivals in India.  This site has so much to read, it even has a page on the meanings of different colours of roses.

Whatever you're doing this weekend, Jade & I hope you have the best time.  I'm working today but Jade wants me to tell you that furbabies need hugs and maybe (safe) treats too :) -  no chocolate honeys please! It's not safe for furbabies!

Till next time dear ones, sending extra heaps of hugs xx

Plug Mates! A Genius Idea!

Disclaimer: I have not been paid to promote this product. They've helped me and I just wanted to share.

Hello honeys
Hope everyone is well and looking forward to Spring.  Today we're basking in a fabulous 7 degrees! OK I know that's not exactly tropical but oh my it feels wonderful compared to the sub zero temperatures we've been suffering for weeks. So, I've decided I'm going to consider this the start of Spring :) Also, I'm still counting down to the clocks rolling forward, for the record it's six weeks from this Saturday night/Sunday morning (since the clocks change at 2am) so yaaaaaaayy!!!

This post is about a tiny piece of plastic that has changed my life! Gosh! That's quite a statement but I swear it's true.  I have discovered plug mates. A wee strip of plastic that wraps around electrical plugs and suddenly .... the plug has a handle!

plug mates - help in using electrical plugs for arthritis sufferers

I have mobility issues which do make certain tasks more difficult. Electric plugs have for quite some time tasked me. Being able to unplug something is sometimes difficult because I am losing the sensation in the ends of my fingertips, so just plain getting a hold of them enough to easily pull them out of the wall can be so annoying at times.

The genius of these little plug adapters though is that they are NOT only for those like me who need a little help in getting to grips with plugs. They are just a fabulous idea because they also have space (as you can see in the above photo) to label what it is the plug leads to :)  How often have you wanted to unplug a certain item and after two or three tries finally find you've unplugged the right item.

Adorable Craft Storage - Craft Corner Organization Continues....

Disclaimer: I have not been paid to promote any products, just wanted to share a bargain I'd spotted :)

Hello honeys
Back again with a quick post on the most perfect little storage jars! The minute I saw them (in our local Asda Homeware department) I knew they'd be ideal for my new craft corner.
Spice Jars Used As Craft Storage

After a lifetime of filling our home with stuff, Hubby & I are determined to get organized! I started this blog as a way to keep track of our progress and as a way of looking back on what we've achieved in the event that we ever complete our (huge) task and end up with a completely organized (dream) home :)

In order to reach that future "organized to the nth degree" home we're dreaming of, we're trying to follow the old maxim that everything should have a place and once that place has been determined, everything should be placed there. Systems within systems seems to be the way to go.  For example, I'm setting up a craft corner but if I were to gather craft supplies from around our home and just dump them into the corner of (what will be) my little dressing/craft room, what I'd end up with is a heap of stuff, a mess I'd still have to dig through in order to find anything.

Rosie's Oasis Of Calm - The Work Continues..And About Those Reindeer!

Hi Honeys
I hope you're having a fabulous weekend and that your Sunday is calm and restful.

Today Hubby and I are working on our guest room again. De-cluttering & downsizing with the aim of turning it into a dressing room & craft room for me. How awesome is my Hubby, bless him.

So, in my last post I shared a few things I'd bought for our home and among them was a make up organizer which now has pride of place on what will be my dressing table.

Above the new dressing table Hubby has put up two glass shelves for me to display my mini mannequins.  I've had these for so many years and I love them, so of course I wanted to find a way to incorporate them into my new dressing room. Now I can see them as I walk into the room and oh my do they make me smile honeys :)

The photo above shows the two glass shelves.  Above the glass shelves is a chrome deer head, which was a gift from a very dear friend.  On the face of it, this would be a strange thing to find in the home of someone who is so opposed to hunting of any kind. I'll explain and then you'll see why this little deer head too warms my heart whenever I see it 😊

Hello honeys
I hope you're all having a fabulous weekend. We reached the dizzy heights of 5 degrees today! Practically tropical :)

Rosies Mini Homeware Haul: Homemakng Smiles...

So, I'm still recovering from my trip to the hospital yesterday. I was there to attend my regular at the Rheumatology clinic. I met a new Doctor there who was just lovely, so friendly and very sweet. As always though, in spite of yesterday being a really good day (fellow spoonies will know what I mean by that, and I so wish I could make it go away for you dear ones, it's a lousy way to live) I knew then, as I always do, that today wouldn't be a good day at all.

Even if, as I did yesterday, you have a sweet, kind & gentle doctor examining you, the squeezing, pressing & bending of joints always causes pain later. Then there is the sheer exhaustion of having gone out to deal with. This honeys is why I am mostly what a friend at work called a "hoose moose"  that's "house mouse" said with a Scots accent :)

So, today I planned to write this post and here I am burning the midnight oil to get it written. I'm nothing if not a determined wee soul :)

An Unexpected Smile Today :)

Hello honeys
I hope everyone is well and staying warm.  A lovely thing happened to make me smile and I wanted to share :)

Standing at the back door, watching our furbaby Jade wander around the back garden I noticed movement. Just at the corner of my eye. Glancing over I saw a beautiful tiny little Robin Red Breast and grabbed my camera and managed to catch him before he flew away again.....
Our Garden Visitor A Tiny Robin Red Breast

I can't begin to tell you how much seeing this dear wee visitor made me smile :) It was a surprise, and the first tiny robin I've seen this year.  I'm so glad I managed to snap a photo.  I just wish it had been better quality. The photograph not the baby robin :) As you can see, the photo could have been much clearer, but I only had a moment before our tiny visitor flew away, so I feel blessed to have a photo at all.

Laundry Help & Rolling Back The Years To A Scottish Childhood :)

Disclaimer: I was not paid to write this post, or to recommend this product. These are just my thoughts regarding the latest addition to our kitchen makeover and I wanted to share.

Hello honeys
Another very busy weekend at work is over with and I'm a very tired woman.  However I'm also a very happy woman too :)  Thanks to a lovely delivery guy on Friday morning and to my dear sweet Hubby, I now have a beautiful kitchen utility item that takes me back to my childhood days every time I look at it :)

Rolling Back The Years: Drying Clothes Old School Style And Memories Of A Scottish Childhood Home...

Quite honestly I really didn't think these fabulous, wonderful items were even made any more so stumbling across them on Amazon actually made me squeal with happiness!

As you know honeys we've been working on our kitchen for a while now.  First our tiny, but very pretty I think, kitchen linens storage, then our budget kitchen makeover, where we added a new worktop and cabinet, and then came the fabulous little wonder trolley that just completed the space under our new worktop perfectly.  Next I wrote a post sharing how we'd organized our kitchen walls to give us lots of much needed extra storage.
